From Paper Brochures to Personalized Travel Experiences
Turning a brochure-and-memory sales process into a structured digital travel planning experience

- Digital Transformation
For years, this travel and resort business planned trips the way most of the industry always has. A representative asked the client about their interests, listened, took notes, looked through printed brochures or worked from memory, and assembled a package by hand. It worked. It also depended almost entirely on what any one representative happened to remember or have in front of them. Ayeim rebuilt the process as an interactive application that captures a client’s preferences and uses them to surface, present and package suitable destinations.
The business challenge
The client conversation was almost entirely manual. To recommend a trip, a representative had to understand the client’s travel interests, the kind of trip they wanted, their destination preferences and any specific requirements — and then translate that understanding into a set of destinations.
That information arrived in fragments: a paper form, a phone call, a handwritten note, a brochure open on the desk. The representative then had to remember, or manually search, which of the available destinations fit. A destination that would have suited the client well could be missed simply because it was not top of mind that day.
This was not a competence problem. It is the natural limit of any process that depends on individual recall while working with many clients at once.
The opportunity
The goal was not to put the brochure online. It was to make the representative’s knowledge and the destination inventory easier to use during the conversation itself.
Two questions had to be answered quickly and consistently: what does this client actually want? and which destinations best match that? The experience needed to move the representative from “let me think about what might work” to “here are the destinations that match what you’ve told us.”
The Ayeim solution
Ayeim built an interactive travel planning and presentation application. It captures the client’s interests and requirements, uses those inputs to identify relevant destinations, presents each one with rich supporting content, and helps the representative assemble a custom package. It can be used by a representative working with a client, or by the client directly.
Interactive destination discovery
Instead of opening a brochure and browsing by hand, the representative captures what the client is looking for and lets the application surface the destinations that fit.
Each destination is presented as more than a name and a photo. Depending on the content held for it, that can include destination photography, descriptions, key attractions, experiences, testimonials, nearby and surrounding places, and other relevant travel information. The point is to help the client understand a place, not just see that it exists.
Personalized recommendations
The client’s inputs become part of how the package is built. Interests, travel preferences, travel type and specific requirements are combined into a set of suitable destination options, giving the representative a broader and more structured starting point than memory alone.
This is a matching step, not an algorithmic prediction. It compares captured preferences against structured destination attributes using defined rules and filters. There is no claim of AI here — the value comes from making knowledge that already existed searchable and consistent.
From destination catalog to package builder
The application does not stop at showing destinations. It helps the representative build the trip.
- Capture the client’s requirements.
- Identify the destinations that match them.
- Explore each destination’s details, imagery and experiences.
- Select the destinations that fit.
- Combine destinations and options into one itinerary.
- Build the customized package.
- Present it to the client.
Before
Client requirements → representative remembers options → manual package.
After
Client requirements → structured digital discovery → package built from real selections.
The visual sales experience
The old conversation ran on a brochure: read the destination, describe it, take notes, follow up. The new one is interactive — capture preferences, explore destinations together, look at photos and details, compare options, build the package, and present the trip as an experience the client helped shape.
Visual, structured information makes the client a participant in the planning rather than a recipient of a finished proposal.
Solving the memory problem
The representatives were not short on destination knowledge. The problem is that no individual can hold every destination, attraction and combination in mind while working with client after client.
The application turns that knowledge into a system. Instead of “which destinations do I remember?” the representative works from “which destinations match this client’s requirements?” Individual knowledge becomes an organizational capability that does not leave when a representative does.
Destination knowledge became a reusable business capability instead of something held in individual memory.
Before and after
Before
- Paper brochures and printed material
- Preferences collected manually, in fragments
- Recommendations shaped by what the representative recalled
- Suitable destinations sometimes overlooked
- Packages assembled by hand
After
- Digital preference capture
- Structured, consistent client requirements
- Relevant destinations surfaced from the full inventory
- Rich visual destination information in the conversation
- Custom packages built from actual selections
The old process worked. The change is in consistency, coverage, and how much of it depends on one person’s memory.
Why this matters
Without inventing figures this business does not have, the qualitative effects are straightforward:
- More structured client discovery
- More consistent destination exploration, client to client
- Less dependence on individual memory
- Richer, more visual client presentations
- Easier package creation
- More personalized travel proposals
- A reusable digital destination experience the whole business can use
- Better visibility into what clients are actually asking for
The engineering challenge
The hard part was not displaying destination photos. It was turning a human sales conversation into a structured digital workflow — modelling the relationship between client preferences, travel requirements, destination characteristics, relevant matches and package options so the system could support the conversation rather than interrupt it.
The application became a bridge between the client conversation and digital package creation. That reflects how Ayeim approaches this kind of work: we don’t start with technology. We start with how the business actually works.
Ayeim’s role
Ayeim worked below the surface of the application. The focus was understanding the existing sales process, finding where information was being lost or constrained by manual work, and designing a digital workflow around the way representatives and clients actually plan travel — the same approach Ayeim takes to digital transformation generally: start with how the business works, not with the technology.
The result
The result was a digital travel planning experience that brought client preferences, destination information and package creation into one workflow.
The representative no longer has to rely on brochures or memory to guide the conversation. The application provides a structured way to discover relevant destinations and build packages around each client’s interests.
Lessons learned
Digital transformation does not always mean replacing an entire business system. Sometimes it means taking a process that runs on paper, memory and manual work and giving people a better way to do the same job.
The real transformation was not replacing the brochure. It was turning destination knowledge into a system the entire business could use.
Capabilities demonstrated
Digital transformation, custom application development, business workflow digitization, interactive experience design, recommendation and matching logic, content management and product engineering — applied to a process, not just a screen.

From Remote Paper Surveys to Connected Field Operations
An NGO was running structured surveys in remote areas with no reliable internet, on paper — collected by hand, entered or scanned later at the head office. Ayeim built an offline-first hybrid tablet application that lets field staff complete assigned surveys with no connection, with surveys and assignments syncing down and responses syncing up to the central system once the internet is available.

Every custom OpenEMR form meant new PHP files, new tables and another maintenance point. Ayeim built a Forms Engine so clinic administrators can create and change forms through a UI, with the form definition held as configuration rather than code.
